If Only
If only time would stand still and
We could go back,
If rainbows could sometimes be black and
Hills wear a veil,
If gaol was release and
Fire did not burn,
If tides did not turn and
You had not died
And stayed forever in earthly life,
Humankind’s higher nature would not exist
And our being make no sense
And be without meaning.
