Mud Can Make You Prisoner

Microcosms Of The Macrocosm Of World Wars

Home sweet home

Where there is righteousness in the heart,
There is beauty in the character.
Where there is beauty in the character,
There is harmony in the home.
Where there is harmony in the home,
There is order in the nation,
And when spiritual order has come to each nation,
There will be peace in our world.

Chinese Proverb

We are in relationship with all life and all life is in relationship with us. Everybody is in need of making peace through finding healing for all their relationships: the one with God and the Universe, with ourselves and all we come into contact with. This part of the jottings is trying to help you do just that.

The Sun in my birthchart is in  Libra, if that means anything to you. Libra is the peacemaker of the zodiac and the sign of marriage, partnerships and relationships in general. My Moon is in Cancer, the Moon’s own sign where its influence is felt with particular strength. From as far back as I can remember, I have put the greatest value on family life. Astrologically, Cancer represents the mothering and nurturing principle of the Divine, the Great Mother of all life, the Goddess. Her greatest love and concern is for a sound basis for all Her children with regard to home and mother, family, ancestry and country.

Bearing these things in mind it is hardly surprising that, as soon as my own children had grown into adulthood, I dedicated my work to the nourishment of my spiritual family, the whole of humankind. From this it follows quite naturally that my attention has always been particularly focused on the healing of relationships of all kinds, especially within families. As a devoted family person, it always saddened me deeply why my family life – especially the earlier part of it – had to be so difficult and traumatic.

The relationship part of my writings is dedicated to my quest into finding out why this should have been so. I am willing to share with you the insights I have gained in the hope that they will help you to get a better understanding of the complexities and difficulties that lie behind your family life. May my observations succeed in pointing you too in the direction of looking for and finding ways to ease and resolve at least some of the issues that are hidden behind all family life, in the spiritual background of the higher levels of our being.

Mud can make you prisoner and the plains can bake you dry;
Snow can burn your eyes, but only people make you cry.
Home is made for coming from, for dreams of going to,
Which with any luck will never come true.

From ‘Paint your Wagon’ by Lerner & Loewe

Those words surely were spoken from the heart and soul of all those who are deeply unhappy at home. Though all too frequently family life is like that, it doesn’t have to be. Should you be one of those who wish to create more peaceful relationships at home and in the world around you, you have come to the right place. If you are not already aware of this, you will soon discover in this part of the jottings that Astrology has a valuable contribution to make towards this goal.
